DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – A former DeKalb County teacher convicted of sex crimes involving students is being sued by the victims and their father.
The father, identified only as John Doe, filed the lawsuit against Dustin Dalton.
The lawsuit alleges Dalton exploited his position as a teacher and coach at Sylvania High School to groom and engage in sexually inappropriate behavior with two minors.
Dalton pleaded guilty two years ago and was sentenced to prison with three years to serve behind bars.
The lawsuit seeks punitive and compensatory damages.
